Sales snapshot: Camera shipments to dip slightly in 2009

The global economic downturn apparently has not missed Japanese camera manufacturers, though, according to one report, SLR cameras will remain a bright spot for the market this year. Shipments of all Japanese-made cameras are forecast to drop 0.7% in 2009, to 118.9 million units, but shipments of single-lens reflex models are expected to be up 6.8%, to 10.3 million, according to an industry forecast.
