Contractors offer advice on why a cedar shake roof buckled

When renovating a 1902 farmhouse, the owners decided on a "green" cedar shake roof instead of metal seam. The shake roof then buckled after a rainstorm, and the owners wanted advice on why it failed. The contractors theorize the problem might stem from some kiln-dried shakes that got mixed with the green shakes, or because the shakes were installed during the winter.
