IAB chief: IPad could foreshadow privatization of Web

The Apple iPad tablet may join the likes of Facebook, Kindle and Microsoft's Xbox in expediting the "semi-privatization" of the Web, IAB President and CEO Randall Rothenberg wrote in a blog post. Rothenberg cited Apple's control over what iPad users can access and the device's failure to work with Adobe Flash ads, and recommended a standard for digital advertising across platforms.
