Investors help push up corporate bonds

The Bank of America Merrill Lynch Global Broad Market Corporate Index rose 1.64 percentage points this month, while the MSCI World Index of stocks in nearly two dozen developed nations declined 3.71%. Investors are seeking the shelter of corporate bonds amid concern that the global economic recovery is faltering. "Some of the economic data has missed expectations, which has been disconcerting for the equity market," said Eric Green, director of research at Penn Capital Management. "It's a short-term panicky mode that people are in."
