Less than a quarter of federal judges are women

In U.S. federal courts, 22% of judges are women, according to the results of a study just released by the University at Albany-SUNY's Center for Women in Government and Civil Society. Researchers concluded that the lack of women on the bench cannot be explained by a shortage of qualified candidates.
