State of the Union draws 48 million viewers

President Barack Obama's State of the Union address, which was shown on the four major networks, cable news channels and elsewhere, attracted 48 million viewers, according to Nielsen ratings. Fox led networks with 9.7 million viewers, followed by 7.6 million on ABC, NBC with 7.1 million and CBS with 6.1 million. On cable, Fox News led with 5.8 million viewers; CNN had 3.1 million and MSNBC had 2.3 million.
