Education in Iowa would benefit from NBCTs, teacher says

A retired science teacher writes that Iowa should reinstate the National Board Certification program to improve education in the state. Ernest Schiller argues that the standards embraced by National Board Certified Teachers "should be utilized by the state of Iowa and school districts for developing a local core of educators to lead the charge as we try to improve education to acceptable standards by the Iowa Department of Education and state legislators."
