Science experiment includes lessons on nutrition at Kan. school

Fourth-grade students in Kansas recently learned how to make homemade bread that included whole wheat flour as part of a hands-on science lesson. Students made bread from scratch while learning about the chemical reaction of ingredients, such as yeast and sugar, and about kneading the dough. Students also learned why whole wheat bread is healthier than white bread, which has fewer nutrients.
