Chromebooks are outselling Windows 8 PCs for Acer

Notebook computers based on Google's Chrome operating system have represented 5% to 10% of Acer's U.S. shipments since November, according to Jim Wong, the company's president. Acer may start selling low-priced Chromebooks in other developed markets, he adds. "Windows 8 itself is still not successful," Wong said, adding, "The whole market didn’t come back to growth after the Windows 8 launch; that’s a simple way to judge if it is successful or not."
