Plastic surgeons give wounded soldier 2 new arms

A soldier who lost all four limbs in the Iraq War received a double-arm transplant at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Surgeons also transplanted bone marrow from the donor in an effort to reduce the need for immunosuppressive drugs. The surgery was led by plastic surgeon W.P. Andrew Lee, who helped pioneer double-hand and double-arm transplants at the University of Pittsburgh.
