Family dairy finds new ground to break

Fullam Creamery in Western North Carolina diversified and enlivened its generations-old family dairy business with queso fresco, a fresh cheese popular in Hispanic cuisine. After breaking into the business in November last year, Fullam is now the state's largest farmstead cheese maker and is dabbling in flavored yogurt spreads and seasonal cheese logs.
