Shuttle program may not survive another loss, Ride says

NASA might not recover if significant foam loss occurs on the next shuttle flight, former astronaut Sally Ride said. Ride is the only person to investigate both the Challenger and Columbia accidents. "I think the loss of another shuttle before fleet retirement would probably retire the fleet right then and there," she said. NASA plans to retire the shuttle in 2010.
