Democrats in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee say they want more information and assurances before approving the Bush administration's request for $1.7 billion more for reconstruction in Iraq. A top State Department official said local firms are taking the lead in the rebuilding, and the U.S. is getting out of the Iraq reconstruction business.
