Merck helps in lobbying effort to require HPV shots

Merck, developer of the human papillomavirus vaccine Gardasil, is helping fund efforts to have states adopt laws requiring HPV vaccinations. At least 18 states are considering such a move, and legislation has been proposed by members of Women in Government, a group receiving money from Merck.
