Exercise program improves health in patients using antipsychotics

Patients treated with antipsychotics were able to overcome the increased appetite, fatigue and sedation associated with the treatment through a supervised exercise program, a study found. The behavioral weight control program, which focused on cardiovascular workouts, strength training exercises and proper nutrition, led to significant improvements in the patients' blood sugar and cholesterol levels.
