Iowa reconsiders school use of fingerprint-scanning technology

As concerns about fingerprint-reader security have abated, Iowa legislators are considering repealing a 2005 law that prevents the use of thumbprint scanners in schools there, except in some highly specific circumstances. The technology previously was used in several districts in the state, in cafeteria lines, in school libraries and on buses.
