Microchip performs genetic testing

Canadian scientists have developed a microchip that could perform genetic tests and provide results in 25 minutes. The device, which features an optical assembly with a laser diode and a camera to accurately examine samples, could help doctors diagnose disease and could assist health care personnel in analyzing the genetic signature of a virus, one of the developers said.
