Economic indicators bring a trifecta of bad news

Jobless claims are up, while home prices and business orders of durable goods are both down, according to the latest economic indicators from the Commerce Department. Home sales are down 14.7% and unemployment has hit 7.2%. Business purchases of durable goods dropped 2.6% in December, the fifth month in a row to see a decline in orders.
