Study links chemicals to difficulty in getting pregnant

Perfluorinated chemicals, which are being phased out the U.S. because of their toxic effects, may reduce fertility and delay pregnancy, according to a study. Researchers looked at data on 1,240 Danish women with high levels of perfluorooctanoate and perfluorooctane sulfonate in their systems and found that those women took from 70% to 134% longer to get pregnant than those with the lowest levels of the chemicals.
