Travel agents are key to Royal Caribbean's success, CEO says

Traditional travel agents will remain the dominant way Royal Caribbean Cruises generates business, chief executive Richard D. Fain said. The company said 80% of bookings are currently made through agents. "We honestly believe, and have been consistent in the belief for many years, that what we get for commission dollars is well worth the money. The travel agent community is good business for us, and that's why we continue to use that as our absolutely dominant way of getting business going forward," Fain said.
