The American Medical Association has called on House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, to prevent the adoption of ICD-10, saying the new standards would significantly burden providers without benefiting patient care. Stopping ICD-10 implementation "will help to keep adoption of EHRs and physician participation in quality and health IT programs on track and reduce costly burdens on physician practices," AMA CEO James Madara said in a letter to Boehner.
