Google unification is set to benefit ad targeting

Google is consolidating its privacy policies with anonymous data aggregated from numerous logged-in sites, a move that should prove a boon to ad-targeting efforts. Watching a video on YouTube could trigger a related ad in Gmail, for example, the company said. Google will put the policy into effect on March 1.
