Viggle to let users check in to TV commercials

Viggle, a mobile application that allows users to check in to TV shows, plans to expand its reach by also allowing users to check in to commercials. That could allow brands to offer digital coupons or to steer viewers toward online content such as social games, explains Chris Stephenson, president of Viggle creator Function(x). "You're basically creating a direct response out of their advertising, which is the holy grail," he says.
