Fed urges banks to have CEO oversee internal auditors

The Federal Reserve published guidance that asks the largest banks to have internal auditors report to the CEO. In general, there has been a trend to move the audit function out of the chief financial officer's purview. The central bank says "the objectivity of internal audit is served best" when auditors report to the CEO.
