Horticultural therapy brings benefits to seniors, homeless

Gardening activities have benefited some seniors in southern Florida, according to this piece. Dubbed "horticultural therapy," it helps strengthen physical skills, memory and coordination, especially among those with Alzheimer's disease. Gardening has also helped provide a source of livelihood for some former homeless people in the Miami-Dade area. As one participant observed: "[T]his is about much more than plants, isn’t it?"
