Don't cave to requests for your salary history

When an interviewer asks about your salary history, the best thing to do is to "reframe the question into what salary range you're seeking," Alison Green writes. If the interviewer wants to know your previous salary, you can respond with something like "I keep that information confidential, but the range I'm looking for now is ...," she writes.
