Facebook has announced its Paper application, the first stand-alone app to come from the Facebook Creative Labs initiative. Paper will reimagine the standard news feed by showcasing a range of stories, chosen by Facebook editors and algorithms, within specific categories. The design is meant to encourage users to slow down their rapid social media scrolling, product designer Mike Matas says. "You really want people to spend a little bit of time with it and appreciate that content," Matas said.
