S.D. biofuel supporters express dismay over RFS proposal

The Environmental Protection Agency's proposal to scale back the 2014 Renewable Fuel Standard targets to below the statutory level garnered about 15,000 comments, including many from biofuel supporters in South Dakota, which is the nation's fifth-biggest producer of biofuels. The RFS "has been a shining star for rural economies and the many points within the national economy that agriculture impacts by the investments we need to make to operate our farms," South Dakota corn farmer Keith Alverson said in his submitted comments.
