Companies help employees battle the bulge

A new study of about 178,000 adults in General Motors' health-care plan shows that obese workers contribute to the rising cost of health insurance. To battle the bulge and cost, GM and the United Auto Workers are working with the LifeSteps education program, which offers diet and exercise advice to about 1.2 million people.
