FEMA: Only half of Texas evacuees requested extension

As of Monday's deadline, only about half of the 6,000 evacuees in Texas hotels had asked for the extended stays beyond the Feb. 7 deadline. Applicants who applied were to receive codes allowing them to stay at hotels paid for by the Federal Emergency Management Agency at least through Feb. 13.
