Mazda searches for way to compete with Pontiac

A General Motors ad that encourages users to "Google Pontiac" may end up pointing potential car buyers in the wrong direction. That's because Mazda bought the search terms "Pontiac" and "Pontiac Solstice" on Google, to promote Mazda's sports car model MX-5 to Web users researching Pontiac's new roadster convertible. The regular search returns the official Pontiac site, but a Mazda-run comparison site turns up as a "sponsored link."
