$183M allocated for pollution controls on Texas construction equipment

Texas Gov. Rick Perry has announced the allocation of $183 million to a program that pays to replace or retrofit off-road construction equipment with pollution controls. Off-road equipment such as bulldozers produce about a quarter of smog-forming emissions in the area, and the allocation will help the Texas Emissions Reduction Plan in its mission to reduce ozone-forming pollutants in the Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston areas.
