Study: Diabetes linked to uric acid kidney stones

Diabetes may be a predisposing factor for certain kidney stones, and the rising rate of diabetes may explain the rising incidence of kidney stones in the U.S. and around the world, according to new research. A study of diabetes patients with kidney stones found the diabetes association was particularly high among patients with uric acid stones.
