Study: Highest-ranked hospitals in U.S. deliver better care

A study found patients admitted to the top-rated hospitals had a 27% lower risk of dying and a 5% lower risk of complications during their stay than patients admitted to other hospitals. An expert involved in the study called the care gap "disappointing" and said the top hospitals "have proven that consistently delivering top-notch medical care is possible, and it is time for the rest to follow suit."
