U.S. economic growth slows in Q4

U.S. growth slowed sharply in the fourth quarter of 2007, making the year the weakest for economic growth in five years, according to a government report. Gross domestic product edged up by 0.6% annual rate in the fourth quarter and rose only 2.2% for the year. Spending on new-home construction fell 16.9% for the year, the worst result since 1982.
