Long Beach Port to spend $3B to upgrade infrastructure

California's Port of Long Beach plans to spend $3 billion on construction projects that include expanding on-dock rail capacity, augmenting terminals and building a larger six-lane, 2,000-foot bridge. "Today's reality is that our customers are shopping around, and other seaports are vying aggressively for their business," said Richard Steinke, port executive director.
