Akron General Medical Center creates neurological ICU

Akron General Medical Center is using 10 of its 69 ICU beds to create a neurological intensive care unit, which will be led by former Cleveland Clinic neurologist Dr. James Gebel Jr. He said one of the benefits of a neurological ICU is having nursing staff dedicated to the unit, which is part of a hospital initiative to improve treatment for stroke, brain cancer and neurological disorders.
