E-mail is effective at supporting business goals, CMOs say

Chief marketing officers rated e-mail as effective for their top business objectives, according to a Marketing Sherpa study. More than three-quarters of CMOs said that e-mail works for building brand reputation and awareness, nurturing leads and retaining customers, though CMOs were less enthusiastic about the ability of e-mails to qualify leads or make sales.
