French consortium pauses as Google revamps OnePass

EPresse, a consortium of eight major French publishers, postponed a plan to extend its joint online kiosk under Google's OnePass after the tech giant said it will make significant changes to the system. OnePass has been around in beta form for 11 months and operates something like Apple's Newsstand, although it takes only a 10% cut of subscription prices. EPresse might be considering alternatives, including Cleeng, France's Hi-Media and Slovakia's Project Piano.
