Magnetic soap could help change cleanup efforts

U.K.-based researchers have developed the first soap that is sensitive to a magnetic field by dissolving iron in chloride and bromide ions. The technology could help in using detergents to fight pollution because the detergents could then be lifted out of sensitive areas. The research was reported in the journal Angewandte Chemie.
