Statin therapy cuts adverse cardiovascular risk in both sexes

Data from 18 randomized trials showed that statins reduced major adverse cardiovascular episodes by 19% in women and 23% in men. All-cause mortality related to statin therapy was lowered by 10% in women and 16% in men, researchers said. The findings appear in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.
