Teacher sees opportunities for students in STEM competition

Science teacher Pamela Greyer, who works in inner-city Chicago, shares in this blog post her efforts to prepare a team of students to compete in NASA's 19th annual Great Moonbuggy Race, a contest testing students' skills in science, technology, engineering and math. The competition, scheduled for April, will require the students, many of whom attend schools with few resources, to master new and unfamiliar skills, but will provide them unique opportunities as well, she writes.
