Amazonian deforestation on the increase, data suggest

Efforts to preserve the Amazon rain forest appear to be falling short, with deforestation increasing in the most recent year measured. "The situation has improved. But it's gone from truly awful to just bad. That's not much progress," says Márcio Astrini, coordinator of Greenpeace Amazon.
