Concrete-filled flour sacks used for bakery's walls

Empty flour bags filled with concrete create some of the walls at the Runner and Stone bakery and restaurant in Brooklyn, N.Y., making them look like gray fabric from a distance, writes Kelsey Campbell-Dollaghan. The 1,000 sacks used are brick-sized or larger. Designers "poured and cured 1,000 of the units ... to create a wall of bulging concrete along the length of the space," according to Campbell-Dollaghan.
