Delaying PTC extension costs jobs, say wind energy advocates

Wind energy supporters lobbied Congress this week to renew the wind-energy Production Tax Credit policy, saying that delays will result in lost jobs and will hamper the sector's development. "This is about people's jobs. If we lose those people, they don't come back. They go to other industries," said Jaime Steve, director of government affairs at Pattern Energy. Last year's uncertainty of the tax credit before the extension caused a significant decline in completed wind projects, said Tom Kiernan, CEO of the American Wind Energy Association.
