High-tech connected book makes reading a sensory experience

Engineers at MIT's Media Lab have a solution in mind for those who don't feel like they are getting enough stimulation from their reading material. The team has developed a version of James Tiptree's "The Girl Who Was Plugged In," that connects to its reader through a series of sensors and delivers physical sensations, including temperature changes and vibrations, to parallel action in the narrative.
