Italian wine master Antonio Mastroberardino passes

The man who made Fiano di Avellino, Greco di Tufo and Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio household names passed away this week. Antonio Mastroberardino, 86, was the paragon of fine Campania wine and will be remembered for his efforts to revive winemaking in Pompeii. "His ideas became a precursor to a philosophy that we are embracing -- authenticity," writes Chiara Giorleo.
