Pilot gives daughter flying lessons, cross-country flight for 16th birthday

Michael Govan, CEO and director of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in California, says he flies for "visual splendor of the aerial perspective." He wanted to share his love of flying with his daughter, so for her 16th birthday, he gave her flying lessons and then took her on his annual cross-country trip from California to Massachusetts. He writes that after 21 hours in the air together, "we were attuned to each other as we had never been before. Our moods and even our music preferences were aligned."
