Rep. Henry Waxman will not seek re-election this fall

Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., the ranking member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, will not run for re-election in November. Waxman was first elected to Congress in 1974. "After 40 years in Congress, it's time for someone else to have the chance to make his or her mark. ... Public office is not the only way to serve, and I want to explore other avenues while I still can," Waxman said.
