Adidas deal complete, Fireman resigns from Reebok

With Reebok International's $3.8 billion sale to rival Adidas-Salomon AG complete, CEO Paul Fireman has resigned from the company he helped transform from an unknown British sneaker line into an internationally recognized fashion brand. "Paul was always the keeper of the flame for the Reebok brand," John Horan, publisher of industry newsletter Sporting Goods Intelligence. "He was the first one to really recognize the athletics footwear not just as something for sports performance, but also as something for fashion."
